What is SRT and why is it important?

Why is vitamin B6 added?

P5P (Pyridoxal-5-phosphate), the active form of vitamin B6, performs more than 30 crucial enzymatic reactions in the body, including serotonin and dopamine production in the brain. Inactive forms of B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine) must be converted by the liver into the active form (Pyridoxal-5-phosphate or P5P) that the body needs.

Individuals with impaired liver function may have difficulty with this conversion and may therefore suffer from a deficiency of vitamin B6.

P5P synergistically works with magnesium in many ways. Deficiency in either of them causes many problems that the body relies on both magnesium and P5P. It is critical to obtain both.

What is the recommended dietary intake (RDI) of magnesium?

The Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) of magnesium is 420 mg per day and is the minimum amount needed to prevent deficiency - not necessarily the maximum amount needed for optimal health.*
