Sodium and Potassium Ratio
The body uses sodium and potassium together to maintain the amount of water inside and outside the cells.
There is no absolute "ideal" sodium to potassium ratio that applies to everyone, but health organizations recommend general guidelines. According to most recommendations, the ideal ratio of sodium to potassium is somewhere between 1:1 and 1:2. For every gram of sodium, you should get about 1 to 2 grams of potassium.
NoordCode leans towards a 5:2 sodium to potassium ratio. This assumes you are also getting potassium through foods like fruits, potatoes, meat, avocados, and leafy greens. Your overall sodium and potassium intake will still be approximately 1:2.
