Three Cheese Queso Dip

This homemade queso dip tastes much better than the store-bought kind because it's full of fresh, savory ingredients like whole jalapeños, red peppers, onions and three kinds of cheese.

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
• 1/4 cup chopped red peppers
• 1 whole jalapeño, de-seeded and cut into pieces
• 340 g cream cheese (diced) - e.g. Lucina
• 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
• 1/2 cup crumbled cheddar cheese
• 1/2 cup crumbled eidam cheese
• 1 tablespoon Real Salt Taco Seasoning

Procedure

• Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
• Add the onions and fry until they turn golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
• Add the peppers and jalapeño and cook until soft.
• Add the taco seasoning, cream cheese and heavy cream and stir continuously until all the cream cheese is combined and the mixture looks smooth.
• Add the cheddar and jack cheese and continue stirring until the dip thickens.
• Serve with chips or vegetables for dipping.
