Dosage

• Children 1 - 3 years - a quarter of a pipette.
• Children from 3 years - half a pipette.
• Children 16 years and older and adults - a whole pipette once or several times a day according to personal need: determine whether this is for prevention or use in illness? Adjust/increase your dose accordingly. This also applies to younger children - adjust the dosage as needed.

• Pomegranates - are rich in polyphenols. In in Ayurvedic medicine, extracts of pomegranate, pomegranate fruit bark and tree bark were used to treat dysentery and diarrhea.

Small studies have looked at the antibacterial effects of pomegranate on several drug-resistant bacterial strains.¹ In one study conducted with guinea pigs, an ointment prepared from pomegranate peels was applied to their wounds for 12 days and significantly improved wound healing by increasing collagen, DNA, and protein synthesis. The extract showed significant antibacterial activity against bacteria in the wound.

In another study with 35 Wistar rats with oral candidiasis, a fungus that accumulates in the lining of the mouth, the rats were given three different concentrations of pomegranate peel extract and nystatin. Regardless of the concentration of pomegranate peel extract, the researchers observed significant improvement without adverse side effects after 15 days of treatment.²

Study

In one placebo-controlled, double-blind study conducted by virologist Madeleine Mumcuoglu, nine out of ten people taking elderberry experienced a significant improvement in symptoms within two days of taking elderberry, compared to six days for the placebo group^.1

In another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in Norway (during the 1999-2000 flu epidemic), researchers gave either placebo syrup or elderberry syrup to patients (aged 18-54 years) who reported having flu-like symptoms for less than 48 hours. Those receiving elderberry syrup experienced symptom relief four days earlier than the placebo group^.2

What is ORAC*
