Hair color - shade black indigo pro ztmavení hnědých vlasů - 10 g, 100 g
100% natural and certified organic (Soil Association Organic) hair colour in the darkest shade of indigo black. This colour will not damage or weigh down your hair, on the contrary it will give it vibrant colour, shine and volume. It is also great for people with allergies to conventional paints.
Natural vegetable hair colour in Indigo Black from It's Pure is suitable for darkening brown hair. The resulting colour may vary depending on your default colour or shade.
Indigo works great in combination with henna, especially for colouring white and grey roots on black and very dark hair.
Combination of henna with indigo
to obtain a reddish brown, brown or black shade
When using henna with indigo, various shades of brown to black can be obtained.
The resulting colour depends on the method used, the duration of the application and the ratio of henna and indigo used.
There are two ways:
Method 1
- First, dye your hair with henna to make it chestnut red, and then dye your hair with indigo to turn the chestnut/red colour to brown.
- To achieve the desired shade, you need to leave the indigo on for the right amount of time.
- The longer the indigo is left on, the darker it will be.
- If you leave it on for the maximum amount of time, it can turn black.
Method 2
- Soak the henna overnight.
- Just before you want to use the indigo, mix it with water.
- Mix the henna mixture thoroughly with the indigo mixture.
- To get a redder/brown shade, use a higher percentage of henna.
- To get a darker brown, use a higher proportion of indigo.
- To get a black shade, use method 1.
To achieve the desired shade, you have to try and also make mistakes, because everyone's hair is different and accepts colour differently.
Required amount of henna
The following amounts are for normal thick hair:
- short hair - 50 g henna
- shoulder length hair - 100 g henna
- hair length up to mid-waist - 200 g henna
The story of Mrs. Cory
After having a horrible allergic reaction to L'Oreal's dye, I was looking for a natural substitute for dyeing my hair.
I first tried a product that claimed to be 99% natural and Ayurvedic. At first I thought it was the solution, but after a few months my hair started to fall out and was weak and sparse.
Luckily, a friend told me about organic henna and indigo from It's Pure brand. It works really well and doesn't wash out. Once every two to three weeks I just have to trim the white roots.
I have tried different application methods and the two-step application has worked best for me. First I applied the henna paste, left it on for about 3 hours, then washed it out and dried my hair. I then apply indigo and leave it on for 2 to 3 hours.
It takes time, but it's worth it in every way. I have been using this method for 2 years. My hair is very healthy now, it doesn't fall out like crazy and I'm growing lots of new hair and it's much thicker and stronger.
How to choose the right shade
- If you would like to achieve a rich dark shade on your light hair, mix the colour with red or dye your hair brown or red first and then use this shade.
- It is not recommended for very light, grey or blonde hair as it can catch green or blue.
Colours It's Pure
All It's Pure Organics colour shades have a 100% botanical formulation made from Ayurvedic herbs, the quality of which is guaranteed by a strict cosmetic certificate from Soil Association Organic. They do not contain any chemicals or inorganic ingredients, PPD, resorcinol, peroxide, ammonia and others. You will also not find any GMO or animal ingredients in them, the paints have not been tested on animals at any stage of production. This makes them also suitable for vegans.
The manufacturer claims that one pack should be enough for average thick hair of about shoulder length. If your hair is long or very thick, get two packs. From my own experience I can say that one pack is enough for 3 times. I only dye the roots, never the whole head. See picture below.
In the package you will find a pair of protective gloves and a hat in addition to detailed instructions for painting.
Henna and indigo based paints need a few hours to oxidize after washing. Therefore, within a few hours, the resulting colour will darken and deepen in shade. See picture below. The colour used is dark brown.
Usage:
The application time depends on how intense a shade you want to achieve. However, this type of paint is generally left on for about 2-5 hours. Ideally overnight if physically possible - personal experience.
Recommendations
- After dyeing with chemical dyes, we recommend a time gap of 5-6 weeks before using these natural dyes.
- We recommend testing on one hidden strand before applying the colour to the entire head. Especially if you have bleached hair.
- If you get paint on your skin while dyeing, don't worry, it's easy to wash off.
- However, for better skin protection, we recommend applying a thin layer of Odylique Ultra Nourishing Balm around the hairline before colouring.
- We recommend washing coloured hair with a gentle herbal shampoo from Odylique or a moisturising shampoo from North American Herb & Spice. Both shampoos have a very gentle composition, they do not contain sulphates, so they do not wash out the colour from the hair, on the contrary, they help to prolong the durability of coloured hair.
- Because henna is drying, it is recommended to use a good quality hair conditioner and once a month a hair cure to nourish dry ends.
Ingredients
Certified Organic Indigofera Tinctoria (Indigo) dried leaves
Attention
Even though the manufacturer tries to formulate their natural colours to be as consistent as possible, there is no guarantee that the colour will catch the same way every time or that the result will be the same on different hair types and colours. Every hair type is different, porous and absorbs colour differently. The result can vary from batch to batch even for the same shade of paint. As this is a 100% natural colour, the effect of the plant ingredients contained may vary due to the influence of climatic conditions etc.
On chemically lightened hair, this natural colour can also react a little differently. Peroxide-lightened hair can be more porous and because of this, it is impossible to fully predict how it will absorb the colour. Whether your hair is chemically coloured or its natural shade, we recommend testing the colour on a small hidden strand first before applying it to the whole head to avoid unwanted results.
