History INCOGNITO
The exclusive Incognito® brand was created after the two co-founders personally experienced the drawbacks of using synthetic insect repellents.
Howard contracted malaria and then dengue fever within a year (in Thailand and India), despite using DEET repellent and taking antimalarials.
Patricia again found herself travelling in South America, where she refused to use the chemical repellent DEET due to the lack of water treatment facilities in the Amazon where she was staying and the beauty of nature, which she found too beautiful to use a toxic substance.
However, the natural repellent she brought with her was not effective enough.
As a result of these experiences, they co-founded Incognito® with the goal of creating a natural insect repellent that would be truly effective and at the same time not harmful to either the wearer or the environment. Incognito® acts as camouflage, making the person invisible to mosquitoes.
How it works INCOGNITO
Howard and Patricia set out to create a repellent that was 100% natural, vegan, not tested on animals and suitable for children from 3 months old.
Incognito products use a highly effective natural insect repellent - Citronella java and do not contain the toxic pesticide DEET, ensuring that they do not negatively impact human health, aquatic animals or the nervous system of mammals.
The brand also focuses on eco-friendly and ethical production, minimising packaging and using renewable resources such as sugar cane for bottle and tube production.
Standards INCOGNITO
In 2010, the company switched to renewable sugarcane plastic and replaced all of their natural biocide packaging with renewable plastic.
All major corporate lines are compatible with this form of packaging. Biodegradable natural ingredients are used that do not pollute the planet, and the sugar cane material is recyclable in most households.
Since they began trading in 2007, Incognito® has displaced or prevented approximately 250,000 litres of DEET from entering and polluting the environment.
The amount of CO2 saved and captured from the atmosphere due to photosynthesis of their sugarcane plastic is 91,498 metric tons or according to the EPA: 101,131,229 pounds of coal burned or 229,952,579 or miles driven by the average passenger vehicle!
When you combine that with the 4.27 tonnes saved through offsets, carbon saving projects and tree planting in underdeveloped countries, it's even more.
