Biodegradability

Soap made from vegetable oils has the incomparable peculiarity of forming a bond with lime, which is always present in the waste water immediately after use. As a result, the soap is neutralized in its surfactant effect (primary degradation). This primary degradation occurs within a few hours. The lime soap is then broken down by microorganisms into 100% carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Within a few hours, the ethanol is reintegrated into the natural cycle. In addition to the natural glycerin that is released from oils during saponification, we also use vegetable glycerin, which binds moisture to the skin. In the production process of the sugar surfactant, parts are taken from the plant raw materials starch, sugar and fat, which are completely preserved in their natural structural structure. Therefore, it is relatively easy for microorganisms to quickly and completely break down these surfactants to 100%. Soap and sugar surfactant are considered by the OECD to be readily biodegradable.
