Official BIO certification will be granted after the completion of a multi-year inspection process.

How is organic olive oil certified in Greece?

Certification of organic olive oil in Greece is governed by European Union regulations, which ensure that any product labelled as "organic" meets strict organic standards. The certification process involves several important steps:

Production

The olives for Dakry Olive filtered extra virgin olive oil are carefully hand-picked during November, when they are ripe and have a typical dark green to purple colour.

Despite this, the oil retains a high proportion of antioxidants and natural polyphenols, which contributes to its stability and slightly spicy aftertaste.

Pressing is carried out exclusively in cold storage at temperatures up to 27 °C and always within 24 hours of harvesting, thus preserving the freshness and nutritional value of every drop of oil.

The filtered version is ideal for those who appreciate a clean texture, a more neutral aroma and versatile use in the kitchen - from salads to frying.

Official quality analysis of EVOO Dakry Olive

Dakry Olive Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been tested by the independent laboratory Chem Solutions (Athens, Greece). The results confirm the exceptional quality and high content of health-promoting substances.

What does 9.3 mg / 20 g mean?

The laboratory result of 9.3 mg/20 g means that just 1.5 tablespoons of oil per day (about 20 g) contains enough bioactive compounds - specifically hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol and their derivatives - to protect blood lipids from oxidative stress*.

The result therefore not only meets but exceeds the minimum set by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), which is 5 mg/20 g.

Such oil is a truly functional food supplement, not just a tasty kitchen ingredient.
