Greek chickpeas - a traditional Greek treasure full of flavour

Greek chickpeas, grown in ideal conditions with optimum altitude and unique soil pH, are characterised by their excellent quality and high nutritional value.

Before cooking, it is necessary to soak it overnight, then boil it in a kettle for 20-30 minutes.

How about trying some real traditional Greek hummus? Recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g canned chickpeas (or 200 g dry chickpeas soaked and cooked)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of tahini
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground Roman cumin
  • water (as needed)
  • paprika, olive oil and parsley for garnish (optional)

Procedure:

  1. Drain and rinse chickpeas.
  2. In a blender, combine the chickpeas, garlic, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and cumin.
  3. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed.
  4. Transfer to a bowl, garnish with paprika, olive oil and parsley.

Our dream became a reality thanks to the secret that our grandmother Magdalini revealed to us: the love and respect for nature and its gifts. Every flower, every twig and every root is a gift from nature.

The manufacturer of our company is Vassilis Karapas. He was born in 1994 in Grevena and studied agricultural development and farm business management at the Alexandria Institute of Technology in Thessaloniki.

He has been farming since his youth, coming from a farming family. It is currently engaged in the production, packaging and promotion of high quality agricultural products using innovative techniques.
