- The aim of the proposed study was to assess the inhibitory effect of myrtle on strains causing urinary tract infections using two different techniques, hydrodistillation and Soxhlet extraction.
- The antibacterial activity of myrtle oil against Escherichia coli was remarkable with an inhibitory diameter greater than 20 mm.
- According to the study, myrtle oil inhibits the growth of yeast and weakens the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, which is said to have a bacteriostatic effect.
