Is collecting propolis harmful or injurious to bees?

We do not harm bees during propolis collection using standard methods. BEE&YOU never collects propolis directly from the inside of the hive, because the bees need it to protect the hive and to produce various products. Instead, we use propolis traps made of food-grade plastic with small holes. These traps are strategically placed under the inner hatch of the hive. As the bees work to seal the hive, they fill the traps with propolis. Once the trap is full, it is carefully removed from the hive.

She has gained extensive knowledge in the entire supply chain of bee products, from the hive to the final product. She is a member of the International Honey Commission and the International Organization for Standardization of Bee Products (ISO).

Taylan Samanci

Founder and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Taylan Samanci is an agricultural engineer (MSc.) with a specialization in beekeeping and zootechnics. He has 20 years of experience in this field and has led many research projects on bee products as a coordinator. He is the author of many books and articles on beekeeping and propolis.
It manages the production of bee products using a contract beekeeping model.

Prof. Dilek Boyacioglu
