DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) 70% – pharmaceutical grade boosts absorption of active ingredients
DMSO – pharmaceutical grade 70%. A pure organic solvent that accelerates the absorption of active ingredients. Free of additives and preservatives, suitable for sensitive skin. Ideal for combination with magnesium oil for better magnesium absorption.
DMSO – Pharmaceutical Grade 70%
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) - natural organic solvent
Contains 99.9% DMSOwhich is diluted with bi-demineralised water to a concentration of 70%. This makes it gentler on the skin and easier to apply.
Bi-demineralised water is water that has undergone double demineralisation, a two-stage process of removing minerals and impurities. This process involves ion exchange, reverse osmosis or distillation to remove dissolved salts, metals and other impurities.
How does it differ from regular demineralized water?
- Demineralised water - undergoes one process of ion removal (e.g. by ion exchange or reverse osmosis)
- Bi-demineralised water - goes through this process twice, ensuring even higher purity
Why is it used in DMSO?
DMSO is a very strong solvent that could carry impurities from ordinary water deep into the tissues. The use of bi-demineralised water in DMSO dilution minimises the risk of contamination and ensures maximum purity of the solution.
What is DMSO?
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is an organic compound derived from wood that is characterized by its exceptional purity of 99.9%. This natural solvent is widely used in various industries due to its unique physical properties.
DMSO crystallizes at temperatures below 18.5 °C, indicating its high purity. If the product solidifies, simply allow it to warm to room temperature. Do not use the microwave!
How does DMSO work?
DMSO is very quickly absorbed by the skin and can carry substances deep into the tissues. Due to this ability, DMSO is used as a carrier for active ingredients such as essential oils or herbal extracts.
Important note: DMSO can dissolve plasticisers from plastic containers, so we recommend using only glass or stainless steel containers.
Why is DMSO diluted to 70%?
- DMSO at 100% concentration may be too strong and irritating to the skin
- Dilution with 70% bi-demineralised water reduces the risk of irritation
- Easier application - no further dilution required
- Better compatibility with the skin, also suitable for more sensitive users
- Convenient to use - users do not have to prepare the solution themselves
DMSO uses
- Direct application to the skin - no further dilution required, suitable for those who want a ready-made solution without the need for adjustments
- Combined with magnesium oil - for easier application and better absorption
- With MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) - a natural sulphur-containing substance often used in musculoskeletal care
- With essential oils - such as lavender or frankincense, which are traditionally used in aromatherapy
- With aloe vera gel - for easier application on the skin
- With natural oils - coconut, jojoba or olive. These oils can facilitate application and reduce possible skin irritation.
Using DMSO with magnesium oil
DMSO can be combined with magnesium oil for more efficient absorption of magnesium through the skin, which can be helpful for muscle cramps, stress or insomnia.
A mixture of 1 part DMSO and 1 part magnesium oil is applied to the feet, abdomen or lower back and left on for 15-20 minutes. Rinsing is not necessary, but if you feel discomfort, you can rinse your skin with lukewarm water.
DMSO increases the permeability of the skin, so it is important not to use any creams, lotions, deodorants or other cosmetic products before application as they may be absorbed deep into the tissues along with the DMSO. Before application, it is advisable to wash the skin only with water to prevent the absorption of impurities.
For an even better effect, you can use magnesium oil with MSM, which combines pure Zechstein magnesium with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), which can promote muscle and joint regeneration. More about this magnesium oil with MSM can be found here.
Key properties of DMSO
- Pharmaceutical quality 70% - according to the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. (Euro)
- No additives or preservatives - pure natural substance
- Solvent - with high bioavailability
- Suitable for - direct application or further dilution
- Protected from light - in a glass amber bottle
DMSO Use and Dosage
DMSO can be applied in a variety of ways, and the concentration should be tailored to specific needs:
- Dilution with distilled water - 30-70% DMSO solution is most commonly used
- Application on the skin - apply to the selected area and allow to absorb
- Use in creams and ointments - to improve absorption of active ingredients
How to dose correctly?
The package includes a practical dropper cap that allows precise dosing.
Composition
Dimethyl sulfoxide DMSO 99.9%, bi-demineralised water.
Important safety instructions
- DMSO may react with impurities on the skin - we recommend washing the skin with clean water before application
- Use only distilled water for dilution
- Do not touch plastic materials when handling DMSO
- The dropper is made of chemically resistant HDPE plastic, however, DMSO can release certain substances from it, so it is recommended not to leave it in contact with the liquid for a long time
- In case of solidification, let the bottle warm up in lukewarm water (do not use the microwave!)
Packaging and product quality
- Glass amber bottle - protects from light
- HDPE dropper for easy dispensing - safe for short-term contact, long-term pouring into a glass container is recommended
- Highly pure composition - without additives
