About the author
Ludmila Bakonyi Selingerová is a Czech writer and teacher who specializes in children's books. Since childhood she has been interested in writing and creating stories. Her dream was to have a cottage by the river where she could write, but in the end she chose teaching as a realistic alternative.
She has worked as an assistant for the disabled and taught in a kindergarten for ten years, where she applied her rich imagination to the creation of projects, scenarios and public events. This interest in pedagogy, nature and fairy tales has naturally been reflected in her literary work.
She has published twelve children's books to date and has four more titles in the pipeline. In addition to the books, she has recorded two studio albums for children, which are accessible via QR codes. In 2020, she founded the Dandelion Theatre, where she created plays based on her fairy tales, focusing on ecology and other important topics.
Ludmila Bakonyi Selinger also organises strategic consultations for aspiring authors and lectures at seminars accredited by the Ministry of Education. She publishes articles and courses for parents and children and collaborates with non-profit organizations, educational centers and universities. Her work encompasses both methodology and entertainment, which she combines effectively in projects and performances.
In 2020, she moved to a homestead in the Pošumaví region, where she once again got closer to nature and the fairy-tale world she loves. Despite this move, she continues to collaborate with musicians from The Mole's Wing Orchestra to create music for children to accompany her books.
